Malinis na Tabay, Para sa Mabuting Buhay

Access to safe and potable water has been recognized as one of the most important problems in barangay Lumbayao. Majority of the households in the community get their drinking water from water sources that can be considered as high-risk. Multiple point sources, including tabay and tubod, are unprotected, with unsanitary surroundings. With data from the rural health unit of Tampilisan recognize that waterborne diseases are among those with the highest morbidity in the barangay, it is imperative that access to safe and potable water should be prioritized. With this in mind, Team Lumbayao, along with the barangay council and the residents of barangay Lumbayao organized a clean-up drive for the tabay and tubod in the barangay last January 21 and 25, 2020. Trash from the surroundings of the water sources were collected and disposed. Sacks for garbage collection were placed in each tabay and tubod, and signages were posted for the residents’ guidance.
